Dengue Infection is very alarming! Surveys shown that it is now the leading cause of childhood hospitalization in our country. Even the Department of Health declares that children are at greater risk of dengue infection. Imagine that? Your sweet-innocent children can be the next victim of these day and night monsters (aka Dengue Lamok). Poor kids if we don’t give them the protection they need to fight against these double threat.

Good thing, Green Cross is on our side fighting to level up our family protection. They have this latest campaign, the Green Cross School Crashers, where they go to various schools in Metro Manila to empower school children by teaching them proper habits that will protect them from dengue lamok or dengue-carrying mosquitoes. With this, kids can easily understand this new scientific discovery and other concepts about dengue and dengue lamok in a  fun way.

The latest school visited by the Green Cross School Crashers campaign is Paco Catholic School, where elementary school kids learned about the two “school crashers” that they need to watch out for: Daytime Dengue Lamok, and Nighttime Dengue Lamok.

The kids were very participative as the Green Cross Crashers team taught them using games, songs, dances, story-telling sessions and interaction with the Green Cross Ambassador, Ms. Green, and the two mascots: Daytime Dengue Lamok and Nighttime Dengue Lamok.

Fans and critics alike celebrated the film “I Do Bidoo”, a movie musical that featured some of the classic OPM hits of the Apo Hiking Society. The response of the audience to the film and to the Apo’s music proved that the musical trio’s legacy is timeless. Moviegoers, both young and old, enjoyed the Apo’s music even in today’s era of hip hop and Korean Pop.

Through the School Crashers program, Green Cross educates both kids and parents about ways to prevent dengue both at school and at home, through a fun and interactive school activity.

CHILDREN ARE AT GREATER RISK of dengue infection, according to the Department of Health. Kids of ages 10 years and below need to level up their protection against this serious, potentially deadly disease—whether they are at home or in school.

After long hours walking in the 8th Global Bazaar, we dropped by at the nearest Power Plant Mall to freshen up a bit and grab a meal before going home. I never thought our sudden stop-by turned out to be the highlight of my day where mom was the mastermind! She brought us to encounter the Wild in the City! Wild creatures such as panda bear, polar bear, a white tiger and a (not so wild) penguin. Oh! but don’t panic, these adorable wild animals are harmless.
