I bet many of us have our New Year’s lists this 2015. Lists of things to do, things to achieve, lessons to take, countries to visit, fears to conquer, gadgets to buy,  attitudes to say goodbye to, and a lot lot more. I too have mine, and few of those numerous items I wrote (which I always renew every single year) were to be more healthy, wealthy and wise. And more beautiful of course.

In line to my goal to be more healthy and beautiful, I attended an event called Bondate with Aqua. It’s a gathering of beauty and lifestyle bloggers for a product launching and demonstration of this awesome beauty care line called Aqua Mineral from the Dead Sea. (I repeat, from.the.dead.sea)

Last month, I attended one of my bestfriends wedding in Laguna. As her bestfriend and bridesmaid, I felt really excited for her big day. I even plan to sleep early but failed. I thought, if that’s the case for me, how much more for her, the bride-to-be.

I witnessed every single detail she posted on her Facebook and Instagram. Each from color motif, gown, make up, shoes, invitation, venue, food, prenuptial photos, videos name it. Every post created excitement as the big day approaches. But at the same time stress picking which was the best for her very best day. Can you imagine how stressful it was to plan that dream event of your life? I bet you’re nodding your head now.

Japanese, among most Asians, are considered to possess not just flawless and youthful skin, but also live well beyond their years, with the longevity that is probably the envy of others.

Even I myself have this curiosity to find out what's their secret. Do they have this secret ingredient in the food they eat? Is it the climate they have? Or is it just natural for them to have this amazing complexion?

And, yes, I got to know their secret last Tuesday as I went to a product launch that revealed Japan's best kept secret to longevity.
Exceptional was how our Social Media Day #SMDay turned out.

A break free from work, stress and distractions (yes, including social media!). It was all we longed for. And being in a venue so relaxing, where you'd  rather interact with one another personally than check your social network accounts constantly, was actually one of the coolest ways to celebrate #SMDay.

Casa Alegria Hotel was the place to blame. It is an exclusive getaway in Tagaytay known for its exquisite rooms and magnificent view. This was where, after the tour at Paradizoo, a sumptuous lunch for bloggers in this year's celebration of Social Media Day was prepared .

Zoomanity Group, the leader in Theme Parks in the Philippines with CEO Robert Laurel Yupangco is celebrating & joining the whole world for the 3rd Annual Social Media Day with "Zoocial Media Day for Bloggers" event on June 28, 2014 and inviting Bloggers to visit Paradizoo Farm in Mendez, Cavite and Residence Inn, Tagaytay for free and with transport provided.
Robert Heinlein said, "One should not attend even the end of the world without a good breakfast". Who doesn't agree to this? It may sound exaggerated but even I don't like the idea of not having breakfast even at the busiest days of my life. Whether in a rush or in an easy breezy phase, one should (or should I say must) attend breakfast.

Good thing Figaro understands this and designed their newest Breakfast Sliders and Rice Meals to start up your day. For people on the go,Breakfast Sliders can be a good option. Rice Meals however are perfect for those who can't let a day without eating rice. Lucky, I had the chance to try both.

Miss Teen Earth and Little Miss Earth Philippines 2014 Candidates
Miss Teen Earth and Little Miss Earth Philippines 2014 Candidates at the Grand Press Presentation at Dusit Thani Hotel in Makati

Indeed a fun way to celebrate birthday was to attend the Grand Press Presentation of Miss Teen Earth and Little Miss Earth Philippines 2014 held at Dusit Thani Hotel in Makati last May 21, 2014.

The event was attended by the 40 candidates together with their parents, presentors and partners, and people from the press. Each of the 40 earth champions charmed the audience with their ramp/introductions on their own style.

Candidates also took an oath to their roles and responsibilities to the environment, led by Vas Bismark, founder and president of Captured Dream Entertainment.

To close the event, press people were given the chance to throw their question about the pageant.
I can’t believe I’m turning 26 already. With no concrete plans in mind, no money in hand, nowhere to go, no boyfriend since birth. Ugh! Sometimes, it’s frustrating to think that other people at your age or even younger has better accomplishments than you. But hey, what’s the point of thinking too much and comparing? We all have our own struggles  and adventures on a different plane. It’s only up to us to see and learn from them, and in the future turn these problems into a story worth reading.

As I’ve told you, I’m nearing 26. In 2 days to be exact. I may be a late bloomer at many things but as they say, it’s better late than never. So here I am, accepting life’s challenges to go get all my dreams to where it belongs. Winking smile

Now let’s start writing (and diving into the unknown).

I guessed I’m really blessed with friends who share to me their blessings generously.

Just like when Monica (a blogger friend) invited me to join her party at Club Manila East in Taytay Rizal last Wednesday. Too bad, I had a burial to attend after so all I had was a quick swim and stroll at the resort.

Just in time for my pesto cravings, ate Jen, owner of mytummyisfull asked me to represent her blog in one of the food events in line. So, I was able to try Buffet Ala Figaro, an eat all you can buffet offered ONLY at Figaro Taipan Place branch in Ortigas.

Figaro is said to be the first coffee company in the Philippines to offer an eat all you can buffet. A good idea for pinoy foodies who love not just food but also coffee. The buffet is priced at 350 pesos and half the price for kids ages 7 and below.

If there’s one message that sinks in even after the Investors in People Secrets to Achieving learning session/symposium/seminar, that is this statement from Paul Devoy, Head of Investors in People United Kingdom Commission for Employment and Skills.
“Put your people at the heart of your vision and they’ll use their talents to achieve it”- Paul Devoy

IMG_4298 Miss Teen Earth Candidates with Miss Universe 2011 3rd runner up, Arch. Shamcey Supsup- Lee

After we placed in the 6 major beauty pageants last year, from Megan Young who became the first filipina to win the Miss International title to Ariella Arida who bagged the 3rd runner up in the Miss Universe,  there is no doubt, Philippines is home of beauty queens.

Last May 26, I attended a seminar facilitated by Jonas Gaffud, beauty queen maker, for the Miss Teen Earth and Little Miss Earth Philippines.
Press Release

For over two months, we have scoured the archipelago in search of young beauties who embody the advocacies of conservation, preservation and protection. We looked beyond their physical attributes and chose girls who conveyed a genuine love for mother earth and who are capable of becoming 'Earth Champions' even at a young age.

It all began in January where hundreds of hopefuls aged 4-9 and 13-17 flocked to auditions in Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Naga, Baguio, Batangas, Pampanga and Manila. Nearly a thousand girls took part over the course of several weeks. Through a series of preliminary eliminations, the list was narrowed down to 20 teens and 20 little girls.

I never thought I can pay another visit to Manila Ocean Park after my encounter with sharks and stingrays received numerous comments from some environmental group and concerned citizens. For a not so mainstream blogger like me, it was a mixed emotion to get overwhelming comments. I was happy I gained more hits, but on the other hand I felt bad to be labeled someone taking part in promoting animals in captivity. Perhaps I should write about that experience and realization, soon. But for now, let me show you Manila Ocean Park's Oceanarium and what I learned after the walk through.
Ever dreamt of being a mermaid even just for a day? Or wanted to swim with those beautiful fins while singing the classic Disney soundtrack, Part of your world? Well, we are on the same boat dear. But mine turned to reality yesterday, when I had the chance to try Manila Ocean Park’s Mermaid Swim Experience.

Just in time when my siblings and I were planning to get into business, I received this book entitled I wish they taught money in High School.  The 2 in 1 book written by Clarissa Serina-De La Paz and Sharon W. Que talks about money, saving, budgeting, investing and a lot more.

The title already speaks for its subject matter, Money Management. But then when I read on it, it was more than it. It’s a lifestyle upgrade. Authors knew that money or handling money should be taught to youngsters as early as high school (even earlier). They knew that if money is introduced to young people, it will be of great impact to their generations.

I wish they taught money in High School  So I’m not dependent on paycheck by C. De La Paz captured me first, the fact that I still depend on paychecks. I love how the author shared her experiences on working, saving, starting a business, and explained even the smallest detail of her journey.

I wish they taught money in High School So I can start my own business right away by Sharon W. Que was of different approach. More numbers involved, but don’t be scared. It has a lot of good points to note down I almost highlighted every page of it.

This book is truly an encouragement for business seekers. It is recommended to people who see themselves retiring early in life. To everyone with big dreams and goals, this is for you to read.

We know that being an employee is really exhausting (to nth level, right?). Running in circles to make ends meet is definitely not your kind of life! So why not start doing little steps to the life you wanted. Remember, it’s never too late or too early. Don’t let your dreams be blurred by the circumstances.

Why took the course?- These words, asked by the instructor, enlightened me more as each of the participant in the Basic Make Up Course answered. Their reasons were not far from mine. I also want to learn #MakeUp like most. And earn, for some. Both were my reasons, but here’s my exact answer.

“I enrolled because I always loved playing with colors. And like them, learn real make up.” That, I said.

Certificate of Attendance from #theMakeUpArtistry

Make Up (honestly!) was never my interest. I hate putting on layer by layer of make up. But colors, true to what I answered, has been my love and interest since I can remember.

Both my brother and sister are inclined to art and music. I can tell you without a blink that their works are more than average. Not because I am their sister but I guessed it is because I have an eye for a real art. You see, being an artist runs in the family. Lol :) Charot!

So, back to Make Up. You ask, “Am I shifting to a new career?”

Well NO. But at some time in life, you need a break-free from what you are constantly doing and discover what other things you can do. Mom always tells me this, to explore yourself, do what you love to do, and be so good at it. Success will definitely follow. #WordfromMom

Soon… Advanced Make Up Course! :)
