A Film Worth The Watch

Of all the films I've watched, this one captured my heart most. An Indian film entitled Taare Zameen Par (Every child is special) starring Darsheel Safary (Ishaan Awasthi) and Aamir Khan (Ram Shankar Nikumbh). I even recommended it to my family and friends after realizing how much the film touched my inner being and even made me cry.

The story is about the life and imagination of an eight-year-old Ishaan. Although he excels in art, his poor academic performance leads his parents to send him to a boarding school. Ishaan's new art teacher (Aamir Khan) suspects that he is dyslexic, and helps him in any way to overcome his disability.

What I love in this movie is the story itself and how it was delivered. I love how Amir Khan (producer/director/actor) made the film playful, meaningful and really heartwarming.

I would highly recommend it once again to all the parents, teachers and aspiring teachers out there to watch this movie twice or more if you prefer. Because, a great film that sets every child as special is what you need to be successful in your profession. No doubt it has received several awards including:

-Filmfare Best Film Award (2008)
-National Film Award for Best Film on Family Welfare (2008)
-India's official entry for the 2009 Academy Awards Best Foreign Film

Here's the movie trailer:
