Life of Pi Movie Review

If not for my brother’s exaggerated reaction on the movie Life of Pi, I wouldn't be watching it.

He told me it’s the perfect movie he ever watched and since I trusted his good taste in film, I gave him a deal. I will watch Life of Pi but he has to pay for my ticket, and my plus one. So he did. And mom and I watched. But not in line to the plan to watch it on 3D. Blame the lame information update on this particular site, ugh! But no regrets!

Life of Pi is an adventure drama film movie based on the novel written by Yann Martel published in 2001. The story is about Piscine Molitor "Pi" Patel, an Indian boy from Pondicherry, who has issues on spirituality and practicality at an early age. Lost his family in a shipwreck. Survived 227 days stranded on a boat in the Pacific Ocean with a Bengal tiger named Richard Parker.

Quite interesting story for an adventure seeker like me, that is why, I had no regrets (for the 2nd time).

My personal comments:

The story is amazingly done. It made me feel all the emotions felt by the main character, Pi. The casts, composed of Pi, Mr. Parker (tiger), Orange Juice (gorilla), the other animals, his family, his girlfriend, the writer/researcher and more, were not so popular but they did an amazing portrayal. The scenes with the animals are really refreshing. The details made them look so real together!

The places were also impressive especially the water scenes and the carnivorous mountain which actually left sister and I asking ourselves if it really exists. We would love to see it and write about it if it does.

Oh! Plus the musicality of the film, good job!
To top it all, I would love to watch it all over and over and over again.
